Insurer set to make further non-executive hires

Motor insurer Admiral has appointed Zurich’s former European general insurance chief executive Annette Court as an independent non-executive director.

Court will also join Admiral’s audit committee and risk committee.

Court left Zurich in 2010 following a management overhaul. She was also chief executive of RBS Insurance.

Admiral Group chairman, Alastair Lyons, said: “Over the next two years three of our non-executive directors will be retiring.

“We are very keen to ensure continuity of knowledge and board dynamics and have, therefore, a policy of recruiting well ahead of impending retirements.

“In that context I am delighted to welcome someone of Annette’s experience to the board and I would expect to be announcing further non-executive appointments in due course.”

Her appointment is pending FSA approval.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
