Gable Holdings have appointed Mike Hirschfield as group finance director and launched its first product in the Netherlands.

Hirschfield is director of Kitwell Consultants which has been the company secretary to Gable Holdings since its incorporation in 2005. Gable also appointed David Coles as group financial controller. They will both be based at the group’s headquarters in Liechtenstein.

Gable has also agreed with a Rotterdam-based broker to offer a programme of standard material damage insurance. Analyst Panmure forecast the new product will generate annualised gross written premium (GWP) of €10m.

“The appointment of Mike and David brings a wealth of additional City and insurance experience to Gable at a time of accelerated growth in the business, and they will be working together with our existing accounting team based in Gable’s European HQ in Liechtenstein,” said chief executive William Dewsall (pictured).

“We are delighted to announce our first product in the Netherlands where we are working with C.A. van Eijk and Zoon, which is a long-established and highly respected broker based in Rotterdam serving the commercial market in the Netherlands,” he said.

Panmure analyst Barrie Cornes said: “We view these appointments very positively and believe that they represent yet further steps in the building of a compelling investment case for institutional investors.”
