e-Underwriting eyes growing online SME distribution

Arthur J Gallagher’s managing general agent has launched an e-traded commercial property owners product on PowerPlace.

The product from OIM division e-Underwriting can quote for a mixed property portfolio of commercial and residential buildings, buildings of a non-standard construction and additional cover that includes an unlimited period of unoccupancy and loss of rent cover for up to 36 months.

It means PowerPlace can now return quotes from nine commercial property owner products from one question set. Other providers including Towergate Underwriting, NIG, Zurich and AXA.

Scott Banks, director of e-Underwriting, said: “Online distribution for the SME marketplace has become increasingly important over the last 12 months and we look forward to working closely with PowerPlace over the course of this year to help support this change and provide support to our brokers.”

e-Underwriting aims to give brokers quotations for 90% of online enquiries, including for risks which it claims most insurers view as non-standard.
