Cooper Gay transfers FSJ team to Giles

Giles has completed the team transfer of FSJ, the wholesale unit formerly owned by Cooper Gay.

The team will join from independent wholesale, reinsurance and specialist retail insurance broker Cooper Gay and will operate out of the group’s new City office at Birchin Lane.

FSJ will continue to focus on developing its wholesaling activities and operating a number of specialist schemes across its business lines including property and casualty, motor and medical. It will retain the FSJ brand and its client base will move across with the team.

Mark Addis, managing director of Giles wholesale said: “As we look to build our business across our specialist sectors, and strengthen our resource and presence in Lloyds, we are delighted to welcome the FSJ team on board. The team will become a core part of our business and fits well with the strategy for our wholesale business. FSJ has an enviable reputation in the wholesale market and we are looking forward to tapping into its knowledge and resource to help us strengthen our offering across a number of key markets.”

Chris Butcher, managing director, underwriting & distribution management of Cooper Gay said: “FSJ has a well established brand and an experienced team which represent a good fit for Giles.

“The transfer of FSJ is a result of a strategic decision by Cooper Gay to focus on the international wholesale and reinsurance sector, our growing network of offices and the development of our facilities and larger corporate business.”
