Alexander Forbes
Alexander Forbes has appointed the following staff to its corporate risks and international business in Birmingham:

Garry Moseley, Nick Hodgson and Dawn Wainwright all join from Marsh as directors.

Ivor Roberts, Lynn Rose and Rita Nerwal also join from Marsh to support client services, operations and local claims management.

The team will join the company's established Corporate Risk Solutions division.

Broker Network
Broker Network has appointed Matthew Clatworthy as sales manager - Southern region.

Clatworthy began his career at Lloyd's. More recently he was a minor shareholder to a group of brokers in Berkshire.

Liverpool-based broker ChoiceQuote has appointed Catherine Alty as director of business development.

Alty has over 16 years' personal lines insurance experience working in a variety of marketing and business management roles at firms including Sun Alliance and Privilege.

Oval
Naresh Patel has joined Oval Risk Services in Leicester as a managing consultant specialising in business continuity planning.

Patel previously worked for Marsh Risk Consulting in Birmingham, where he was vice president of business continuity management.

Insurer

Fusion
Fusion has appointed Simon Marriott as regional sales manager, based in Bristol.

Marriott joins from AXA, where he was latterly commercial marketing manager. He has also worked for Guardian Royal Exchange Insurance.

URS
Underwriting Risk Services, the specialist yachting, marine trades and fine art insurer, has promoted Franziska Hofmann to the new position of deputy underwriter (Europe).

Hofmann, who will initially be responsible for the yacht account, has worked at the company for eight years.

Allianz Cornhill
Allianz Cornhill has promoted Katy White to underwriting academy manager.

White joined Allianz Cornhill in 2000 on its corporate management training scheme, most recently working in commercial lines roles.

Brit
Brit has appointed Joseph Patrick MacHale as a non-executive director.

Previously chief executive of JP Morgan Europe, Middle East and Africa region, MacHale is currently a non-executive director and member of the audit committee of Royal Bank of Scotland, and non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of Morgan Crucible.

He will join Brit's remuneration committee.

Exeter Friendly Society
Private medical insurer Exeter Friendly Society has appointed Linda Baker in the new position of product manager.

Baker was previously sales and business development manager for USC.

HCML
Helen Merfield, managing director of Health and Case Management, has assumed the new role of chief executive with immediate effect.

Legal

Berrymans Lace Mawer
The partners of Berrymans Lace Mawer have elected Terry Renouf as their new national senior partner following Paul Taylor's decision to retire.

Renouf, who will assume his new role on 1 April 2006, was involved in the Civil Justice Council-sponsored costs mediation process which reached agreement on success fees in employers' liability accident and disease cases. He also sits on the Law Society's pre-action protocols working and drafting group.

Taylor will continue his involvement with the firm in a consultancy capacity.

Silverbeck Rymer
Silverbeck Rymer has promoted Kingsley Hayes to its main board in the new role of legal director.

Hayes will also remain a partner of the firm and head of its claimant department.

Other

Caudwell
Insurance administrator Lifestyle Services Group and mobile phone insurance administrator Policy Administration Services have appointed Simon Markey as their new managing director. Both companies are part of The Caudwell Group.

Markey joins from Lloyds TSB, where he was a customer/sales director and divisional director of Telephony worldwide.

Evolution Legal Service
Legal expenses provider Evolution Legal Service has appointed Sue Saunders as South Wales and South West area sales manager.

Saunders, who will develop a nationwide sales force over the next three years, joins from Helphire.

PricewaterhouseCoopers
PricewaterhouseCoopers has appointed Andrew Jurczynski as financial services partner in its valuation and strategy practice.

Jurczynski previously worked at AT Kearney, where he was vice president in its financial institutions group.

Plantec
Motorcycle claims support provider Plantec Holdings has appointed Nigel Allen as service and business development manager.

Allen was previously a technical claims supervisor at Provident Insurance.

Total Systems
Software provider Total Systems has appointed Colin Fox as sales director.

Fox was previously managing director of Strategic Asset Management Solutions.

Profile

Paul Corcoran
Heath Lambert Property Portfolio has appointed Paul Corcoran as regional property director.

Based in Heath Lambert's Manchester office which employs 50 people, Corcoran will work with other offices in the northern region to co-ordinate and develop the group's property investment/management business.

Corcoran began his insurance career 17 years ago with local Manchester brokers, before working with Aon on the Isle of Man and Alexander Forbes in Dublin and Manchester.

Corcoran said of his new role: "Heath Lambert leads the way in the property owners' sector and there is a genuine opportunity to roll out our property portfolio specialism to the regions.

"It's my job to take that to all the major agents, owners and developers throughout the UK and Ireland."

Corcoran is a Manchester United fan and he also loves cricket.
