Bollington
Michelle Bucknor has joined Bollington as head of insurance. She will manage its small and standard business insurance division, Your Business Insurance.

Bucknor joins from Esure's personal lines division.

Protectagroup
Protectagroup has appointed Leo Attwood as IT director to develop the company's IT infrastructure.

Attwood joins from Alterian, where he worked for almost five years in software development and consultancy.

Smart & Cook
Smart & Cook in Scotland has appointed Steve Watson as an account executive in its Edinburgh team.

Watson, who was previously a commercial sales executive at Giles, will focus on developing Smart & Cook's connections in the Dundee area.

Heath Lambert National
William Bosher and Adam Whitehall have joined Heath Lambert National to head up its new East Midlands office in Castle Donington.

Bosher, who has over 40 years' insurance experience, was most recently at Oval in a business development role.

Whitehall also joins from Oval, where he specialised in business development.

RIAS
Specialist over-50s insurer RIAS has appointed Hein Kuiper as marketing director.

Kuiper spent his early career at Royal & SunAlliance, and has latterly held several roles at Zurich, most recently as head of internet business for Zurich UK Personal Lines.

Bennetts
James Wapples has been appointed as senior marketing manager for Bennetts, Budget's motorcycle insurance arm.

Wapples has been at Budget since 1999, where he has held a number of marketing roles, most recently responsible for managing Budget's Retail marketing activity.

Insurer

Ecclesiastical
Ecclesiastical has appointed David Bonehill as chief claims manager.

Bonehill has 27 years' claims handling experience, most recently at Chubb UK/Ireland as property claims manager.

MMA
MMA has appointed Stephen O'Dwyer as head of finance.

O'Dwyer joins from Zurich UK Life, where he was head of finance and management information in its customer operations division.

RJ Kiln
Lloyd's managing agency

RJ Kiln has appointed Richard Lewis to the new position of deputy underwriting director.

Mark Mortlock replaces Lewis in his previous role as deputy underwriter for the property division of Kiln Syndicate 510. Mortlock was previously an underwriter in the syndicate.

St Paul Travelers
St Paul Travelers has promoted Andy Hamilton to regional underwriter, servicing a panel of brokers in the Home Counties.

Hamilton was previously a risk manager at the company.

Vega
Vega has appointed Stephen Edwards to the newly-created role of IT manager.

Edwards has previously worked at companies including Royal Insurance, HBOS and AXA Sun Life. He will be responsible for the introduction, implementation and subsequent management of Vega's new technology, which is currently being evaluated.

DA Constable
Chris Cullen has been appointed underwriter at the Lloyd's box operation of

DA Constable Syndicate 386, part of Limit Underwriting.

Cullen, who has 17 years' liability insurance experience, was previously with the group's service company.

Towergate Partnership
Towergate Partnership has appointed Daniel Sinclair in the new role of regional marketing manager for its South East region.

Sinclair has five years' personal lines experience and was most recently marketing campaign manager for a credit card provider.

In his new role he will support Towergate's new business growth and aim to improve local customer communication.

Dex
Hull insurer Dex has promoted deputy underwriter Chris Turberville to the board of Dex Serv as operations director.

Turberville, who has been at Dex since 2002, will assist Peter Wright in his role as deputy chairman.

Paul Cunningham, who has also been at the firm since 2002, has been promoted from senior claims executive to claims manager.

Ann Waite, Dex's chief operating officer and claims director, is leaving the firm to join Benfield.

Other

Capita
Max Pell has been appointed managing director for specialist services at Capita Commercial Services.

The role will encompasses legal services, health solutions, Teceris, Brownsword, art, assistance and CAMS. Specialist services provides high valuation professional services to the insurance and non-insurance sectors.

Pell was previously director of programmes for Capita Commercial Services.

Sal Laher, divisional IT director for Capita Commercial Services, has been appointed as a Capita divisional board member.

Helphire
Helphire has appointed Tim Williams as managing director of human resources and training.

Williams has previously held a number of senior management posts with Cadbury Schweppes, HSBC, Cardinal Health and Revlon Inc.

Synergy
Specialist intermediary protection provider Synergy Financial Products has appointed Barry Goodhead as business development manager and Richard Simon as marketing manager, both for Synergy Protect.

Goodhead joins from the Mortgage Support Network and Simon joins from Wesleyan Assurance.

Talent&Pro
Nigel Fearon and James Calvert have joined Talent&Pro, an insurance industry insourcing provider.

Both will both work on projects or interim roles for insurance companies, brokers and/or banks.

In conjunction with their assignments they will sit for their ACII qualifications.

Fearon and Calvert have recently graduated from Middlesex and Sheffield universities respectively.

Liberata
Business process outsourcing provider Liberata has appointed Robert Gogel as group chief executive and main board director.

Gogel, who succeeds Tom Butler in the role, was formerly chief executive of technology software company RebusIS.

Profile: Gavin Wright
Rehab case management and health services provider Health & Case Management (HCML) has appointed Gavin Wright to the newly-created role of chief operating officer.

Wright joins from insurance-based law firm Silverbeck Rymer, where he was sales and marketing director. Prior to this he was a consultant at KPMG, strategically advising clients in a number of operational areas.

In his new role Wright will drive HCML's delivery of rehabilitation, vocational and occupational health services throughout the UK.

He joins the company at a busy period, as HCML is set to continue its expansion by opening offices in the South West and Scotland over the next 12 months.

Wright said: "HCML is a dynamic, vibrant business with hugely capable people and a compelling strategy in place.

"It's exciting for me to have the opportunity to work with Helen [Merfield, HCML's chief executive] and the team to continue the momentum, realise our growth ambitions and strengthen HCML's position."

Away from work Wright enjoys travel, current affairs, and watching and playing all sports.
