Primary Broker Services
Primary Broker Services has expanded its Harrogate operation and appointed two business underwriters, Debbie Dyson and John Darnbrook.

Dyson's broking and underwriting experience includes 10 years in the South African commercial market and a commercial underwriting role with The Broker Network.

Darnbrook brings more than 10 years' experience with Norwich Union's North East underwriting team, where he specialised in property and casualty.

Heath Lambert
Heath Lambert has appointed Martin Bewsey as deputy chairman of its property portfolio division.

Bewsey will head up the development of the division's business base and its client service strategy.

He previously spent over 25 years as insurance manager at property company Haslemere Estates Management and was also group insurance manager for Haslemere's parent company, Rodamco, for 12 years.

Ace
Ace European Group has appointed Isabel Gouveia-Lima as operations director.

Gouveia-Lima, who will be based at the group's European headquarters in London, joins from Citigroup, where she spent eight years driving business led operational changes throughout Europe.

Beazley

Beazley has appointed Andrew Pryde as group actuary.

Pryde joins from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he gained nine years' global insurance and reinsurance industry experience.

Clive Washbourn has been appointed to the Beazley Furlonge board.

Washbourn first joined Beazley in 1998 and has grown the syndicate's marine account from £9.6m to £100m for 2005.

Other

Affinity Solutions
Affinity Solutions has appointed Peter Friend as chairman. Friend joins from Aon's affinity division, where he was chairman and managing director.

LCL Group
LCL has appointed Andrew Holland as chief operating officer.

Holland, formerly chief executive of Euclidian Underwriting, will also join LCL's board and be general manager of Bestpark International, the wholly owned special purpose subsidiary of LCL Acquisitions.

Claims Management
Claims Management Group has appointed Mark Moyes as head of its Australian operations.

Moyes, a lawyer, joins from Reinsurance Australia Corporation, where he was chief executive, run-off services.

Amber Credit
Amber Credit has appointed Mark Wooldridge as sales and marketing director.

Wooldridge has 12 years' experience in premium finance, most recently as national sales manager for Close Premium Finance.

Assurant Solutions
James Carpenter has joined Assurant Solutions as head of product management. He joins from Lloyds TSB.

David Balmer has been promoted to head of client relationship management.

Branko
Compliance solutions firm Branko has appointed former GISC communications officer, Rachel Maidment to the Branko compliance team.

Profile

David Smith
Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has appointed David Smith as director of its engineering business.

Smith has been with R&SA for nearly 20 years and has been a member of the commercial executive team, responsible for shaping and driving business strategy, since 1999. His previous roles include director of small business and Motability, and more recently director of business change.

Smith, who will focus on strengthening R&SA's engineering proposition in his new role, says: "Through our people, and our core values of safety, excellence and delivery, I aim to reinforce our position as the leader in this competitive market."

Smith is 42 and lives in Leeds with his wife Lynn and children Rebecca, 14, and Nick, 13.

He has a passion for rugby union and is a supporter of Everton FC. He also enjoys playing golf.
