BridgeBridge Insurance Brokers has appointed Gavin Ruben as director of corporate communications. Based in Bridge's Manchester office, Ruben will develop new business and strategic partnerships throughout the North West. He has 12 years' experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Bridge, he was an associate director at Marsh.

Heath LambertHeath Lambert Group has appointed Steve Parsons and Jean-Pierre Lonsdale to the national sales team of its credit and surety division.Parsons joins as an associate director. He was previously with Corporate Finance Security, where he was development director. Lonsdale joins as a new business executive based in the London head office. He joins from Gras Savoye Langlois, where he was credit insurance and factoring broker.

Insurers

Allianz Global RisksAllianz Global Risks has appointed Martin Henson as global head of energy. Henson has more than 20 years' experience in the insurance and reinsurance markets and has previously held positions as global risks manager and head of underwriting quality within Allianz Global Risks UK.

AspenAspen Insurance UK has appointed John Henderson to the newly created post of senior underwriter for marine and energy.Henderson will be based in London and has 30 years' experience in the marine and energy sectors. He was most recently active underwriter of Marlborough Syndicate 1861.

HighwayMotor insurer Highway has appointed Michael Lawrence as distribution manager and Anna Peak as marketing manager. Lawrence was previously marketing and special projects manager at Highway. His previous roles within Highway include electronic trading project manager and a number of senior underwriting positions. Peak's former roles include marketing officer at Highway, and a variety of marketing and claims positions with Fortis Insurance.

Liberty InternationalLiberty International Under-writers has appointed Tim Bartlett to senior underwriter.Bartlett has 20 years' experience working in the London market underwriting primary and excess UK and international liability business. His most recent position was at Gerling General Insurance Company UK branch, where he was senior underwriter for UK and international liability.

Legal

Hilary MeredithDavid Edwards has joined Wilmslow-based Hilary Meredith Associates.Edwards joins from Branton Edwards, where he was a founding partner. In his new role he will oversee employers', public and product liability departments.

Donns SolicitorsDonns Solicitors has appointed Graeme Middleton as business development director.Middleton joins from Hextalls, where he was a partner. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing client relationships with Donns' insurance partners.

EvershedsEversheds has appointed claims management director Shaun Slack to its legal systems group. Slack joins Eversheds from the position of head of claims at Hill Dickinson. He has 16 years' experience in legal and claims management, insurance and underwriting.

Other

CapitaCapita Insurance Services has appointed two senior loss adjusters, Alastair Whiteside and Peter Shaw. Both are appointed as directors of the technical adjusting division with responsibility for major loss work and the development of corporate accounts.Whiteside, who will be based in Glasgow, joins from Grant Thornton, where he was a claims services director. Shaw, based in Birmingham, joins from McLarens Young in Atlanta, Georgia.

PGD StrategyCorporate finance and strategy consulting firm PGD Strategy has appointed Charles Catt as a senior associate.Catt has 40 years' experience in managing and growing underwriting businesses in the UK and internationally. Since 1999 he had a variety of consulting roles with insurance and reinsurance sector businesses.

QuestgatesQuestGates has introduced a new tier of management for its liability division, with three senior regional staff, Rupert Frost, Stuart McLean and Mark Purvis, being appointed associate directors. Frost has management responsibility in the North West. McLean has 23 years' experience of the investigation and handling of liability claims. Purvis manages QuestGates' North East liability and motor operations.All three will report to managing director Chris Hall.

CarmichaelsCarmichaels, the Maidstone and Birmingham-based loss adjusters, has been acquired by Keith Curling, who has been a partner in the firm for 11 years. Senior partner Paul Rolland has left the firm to pursue other interests.

XbridgeOnline finance and marketing service provider Xbridge has appointed Chris Slater as its insurance manager. Slater was formerly the assistant to the chief executive of Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA). He joins Xbridge after spending four years in a variety of executive positions at R&SA and More Th>n.

RAC Auto WindscreensRAC Auto Windscreens has appointed Richard Pilkington as client manager. Pilkington will be responsible for maintaining and developing existing and new relationships within the insurance provider market.

Paulus DeutickePaulus Deuticke has been appointed as development director at Xchanging, the business process services company.His role will be to explore new business opportunities throughout Europe. Deuticke said: "I have been impressed by Xchanging's innovative approach to outsourcing, and look forward to growing its European client base."Deuticke has completed an MBA at Harvard Business School, including a period at McKinsey & Company in Vienna. Previously he has been an associate at Gilbert Global Equity Partners, an investment principal at Wood River Capital Management and a senior investment banking analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation. Deuticke also co-founded independent film production company Noujaim Films in 1999.
