Chaucer
Chaucer has appointed Richard Scholes as a non-executive director.

Scholes has worked in the City since 1970, having qualified initially as a chartered accountant. From 1986 to 2001 he was a director at what is now Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, investment bankers and, from 1993 to 2000, a non-executive director of RCO Holdings. He is currently a non-executive director of three other UK-listed companies: Bodycote International, British Vita and Keller Group. He is chairman of the audit committee of two of these companies.

Allianz Cornhill
Colin Janes has been appointed development manager at Allianz Cornhill's Maidstone branch.

He joined Allianz Cornhill in 1985 as a business developer and has been responsible for territories in Maidstone and London.

For the past two years he has been the broker partnership consultant in Allianz Cornhill's channel management team at the Guildford head office.

RK Carvill
R K Carvill (International Holdings) has appointed Kenneth Goldstein as non-executive director and Denis Bailey as an executive director of the board.

In addition, Jonathan Turnbull, chief financial officer for R K Carvill (International Holdings), becomes chief operating officer.

Markerstudy
Markerstudy Group has appointed Mike Lewis as group financial controller.

With 20 years' experience in the financial services sector, originally at Ernst & Young and latterly as managing director of a Lloyd's motor managing agency and then financial director of service policies, he has a particular knowledge of the Lloyd's and international markets.

Becketts
Peter Fisher has joined The Beckett Group to spearhead a major campaign on long-term care for the elderly.

He has specialised in this area for the past four years having worked previously with Compton House, the financial services arm of law firm Shoosmiths.

Lucas Fettes
Neil Lyons has joined Lucas Fettes as new business account handler.

He has held a variety of senior positions in the wholesale market.

Heath Lambert Group
Heath Lambert Group has appointed Paul Rowley as executive director in charge of its Manchester office.

He has more than 20 years' experience in the insurance industry in a variety of areas, including underwriting, marketing and branch and regional management. He has worked for a number of blue-chip insurers, including Prudential, General Accident, CGU and Norwich Union.

GAB Robins
GAB Robins has made three new appointments. Iain Wishlade - currently head office claims superintendent at NFU Mutual - joins in April as manager of the central region based in Birmingham.

Neil Patterson currently at Cunningham Lindsey will join GAB Robins in Manchester.

Garry Sheering, currently at Eversheds, joins to further strengthen the liability team in Leeds.

Intech Solutions
Intech Solutions has appointed Matt Edmonston to manage its major global project for AXA Art.

Edmonston began his insurance career as an underwriter with M&G Re before moving to Liberty Re.

He moved into the international market and gained extensive global experience, more particularly, project managing the start up of Navigator Asia in Singapore on behalf of Aviva.

insurE-com
Insurance business system provider and internet specialist insurE-com (www.insur-e.net) has appointed Joe Sultana as UK national sales manager.

Sultana previously worked at the broker Hill House Hammond and since December 1996 at Morgan's, an independent broker.

Software Solutions Partners
Software Solutions Partners has appointed Colin Pinfield as corporate sales executive.

He initially trained as an insurance underwriter and worked for some time in large commercial broking organisations.

He has industry experience gained from working closely with Lloyd's and London market systems. Latterly he has been selling software testing services and major projects to large insurance companies and other corporate businesses.

Rubicon
The Rubicon Corporation has appointed Alan Davies as relationship manager, responsible for establishing both motor and household insurance panels.

Bringing over 30 years experience of the insurance industry to the Rubicon team, he has arranged both motor and household panels for a leading UK bank and a major insurer.

Defaqto
Tony Bobath has been appointed chief executive of Defaqto. He takes over from Alastair Whitehead who remains on the board of Defaqto as development director.

A qualified chartered accountant, Bobath joined Defaqto in November 2001 as finance director.

WiseCall
WiseCall Claims Assistance has created a new sales team due to continued expansion.

The new recruits are business development executives Cliff Mott, Mike Coward, Martin Boatman and Brian Randleson. Mike Brown joins as sales and development manager.

Five new recruits join Beazley specialty lines team

Beazley has appointed five new recruits to its specialty lines team.

Nat Cross joins Beazley from SVB Syndicates, where he was a senior underwriter responsible for the healthcare account.

Roland James joins from Wellington. He takes over all the non-underwriting responsibility from Johnny Rowell.

Neal Wilkinson has more than 24 years' experience in the London insurance market, specialising in D&O, E&O and related classes. He joins Beazley from Aon Professional Risks.

Keith Randle joins Beazley from Paragon Insurance Brokers and will take on the role of speciality lines wordings manger at Beazley. David Morgan will further strengthen the claims function for the speciality lines team. He joins from Equitas.
