Goshawk Insurance's Lloyd's Syndicate 102 has been awarded an 'A' rating by ratings agency AM Best.
The upgrade was in response to a series of improved underwriting results and client relationships, according to the agency. This has enabled Syndicate 102 to achieve returns above Lloyd's global returns over the last decade, it said.
Goshawk chief executive Chris Fagan said: "Syndicate 102 is improving in profitability, which was highlighted in our recent interim results through the reduced combined ratio of 95%."
The catalyst for the Syndicate's recent growth was strict underwriting policies, which have diversified its business spread, said Fagan.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
