International healthcare provider, Goodhealth Worldwide, has signed a new underwriting agreement with Norwich Union Insurance.

The deal gives Goodhealth long-term underwriting support for its insurance programme in Europe and the UK and reinsurance support worldwide.

Martin Garcia, group managing director of Goodhealth, said: “Norwich Union will give weight to our growth ambitions in many major European markets, complementing similar highly successful agreements with other leading insurance groups in Asia, Middle East and Africa and USA.”

Norwich Union Insurance said it believes that there is considerable scope for growth within the international healthcare sector.

Norwich Union Healthcare's head of international, Shah Rouf, said: “We take an active role in realising potential in all the markets we enter. Our focus will be on supporting Goodhealth to grow its market share across all product areas. In particular, we both see big opportunities in the group market.”

It is anticipated that the new agreement will offer immediate advantages to corporate policyholders including bigger discounts for groups of up to 50 members.
