Growth in trade association business targeted

Heath Lambert has appointed Matt Dawson has commercial director for affinities.

He is tasked with identifying new business opportunities for commercial affinities and developing and building on the success of Heath Lambert’s existing portfolio, with a particular emphasis on trade associations.

The Group, which is the UK’s leading independent insurance broker, has a proven track record in the design and delivery of schemes that meet the specific insurance needs of trade associations, professional bodies and member organisations. Indeed Heath Lambert’s scheme for ACAD, the asbestos removal trade association, recently won its client the prestigious CBI backed Trade Association Forum Commercial Initiative of the Year award.

Prior to joining the Group, Dawson was head of corporate and business development for the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE).

Mike Owen, Group Marketing Director for Heath Lambert, said: “We recognise that affinity groups such as trade associations have very specific and frequently complex and challenging insurance requirements. As a result we have been able to go a long way in filling the gap in the market and now have a proven track record.

"We wanted to further our success and extend our market reach and Matt’s expertise and input will be invaluable in this effort."
