Henderson’s loses branch chief following Aon takeover

Aon-owned Henderson Insurance Broking Group has lost one of its branch managers.

Adrian Hiley, who was the manager at the Sheffield office, has left the Yorkshire site to become a tree surgeon and landscape gardener.

Insurance Times understands he left at the end of last year for personal reasons.

On 1 December 2017, Aon completed the acquisition of the Leeds-based broker.

The acquisition will help it pick up ground lost on Marsh UK in the UK broking space.

Henderson came 38th in the Insurance Times Top 50 brokers list 2017.

It was one of the largest independent brokers before the acquisition, with revenue of £34.5m for the year ending 30 April 2017.

But, now it is owned by Aon, which came 5th. No one from Aon was available for comment.

Joe Henderson, founder of Henderson said:

“Adrian approached us as he wanted a change of career and decided he wanted to get into Landscape gardening, so we granted his request to branch out to become a tree surgeon.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
