Heritage has established a new syndicate at Lloyd's that is to be underwritten by Les Rock.
Syndicate 1200 will focus on property facultative insurance and reinsurance, but will also write a number of other specialist lines including fine art and specie, transportation and mortgage impairment.
Syndicate 1200 will have a total capacity of £33.7m for the remainder of this year.
The board estimates this will be increased to £80m for the 2003 year of account.
Heritage managing director Martin Gray said: "We are very excited to attract one of the market's leading underwriting talents to Heritage. Syndicate 1200's property focus will provide a complementary balance to Syndicate 1245's casualty book."
