Hiscox has appointed Peter Welch to head up the Scheme Solutions business within its Private Client Division.
As manager of the Scheme Solutions Division, Peter will lead Hiscox's white-label underwriting services to intermediaries.
Managing Director Sian Fisher said: "There's an air of change within the personal lines insurance market and Hiscox is committed to making sure its business continually evolves.
"Peter's appointment is a measure of the strategic importance of the Scheme Solutions account to Hiscox's future. The potential for brokers in the growing affluent customer segment is enormous and we intend to support the key profitable growth initiatives in this area."
Peter was appointed to the role following a two year period as a director of Hiscox's online household insurance service.
Welch said: "There are many opportunities for growing Hiscox's Scheme Solutions business in the mid net worth sector with our chosen group of intermediaries/brokers.
"We are looking to work with intermediaries with the determination to deliver an appropriate product to the affluent customer whose needs are currently woefully under-serviced."
