Homeserve has moved into the contents validation market with a significant purchase.

The listed home emergency service provider has bought Digital Insurance Services (DIS) for £3m. Homeserve has agreed to pay an extra £9m for DIS, depending on profit over the next three years.

The Great Yarmouth-based DIS specialises in home insurance contents claims validation and fulfilment services.

Ian Carlisle, chief executive of Homeserve Emergency Services, said: “The acquisition of DIS provides Homeserve with a unique capability to offer our UK insurer customers a market leading contents validation service which, combined with our Emergency Repair multi-trade businesses, provides a complete solution for all household repair and contents claims.”
