International home emergency business HomeServe has reported growth at home and abroad over the second quarter of the year.

The company, which is the subject of ongoing investigations by the FCA into alleged mis-selling, has also reduced its net debt, which on 30 June stood at £26m, compared with £43m in March 2013.

In a statement, the company said: “HomeServe is trading in line with expectations. In the first four months of the current financial year we have, as planned, increased our UK customer acquisition marketing activity and improved our retention rate.

“In our international businesses we are continuing to grow our customer numbers.”

In addition, the firm has rolled out an improved plumbing and drains policy to new and existing customers, and has also recorded a fall in customer complaints of 39% in the first three months of the year compared with the same period last year.
