Affinity insurance provider Hood Group has won the contract to provide The Telegraph’s new branded home insurance offering.

The new product was developed by Hood Group and is underwritten exclusively by RSA.

The product was previously administered by Heath Lambert, now part of broking group Arthur J Gallagher.

Hood Group said the Telegraph-branded offering allows the newspaper’s readers to choose how much cover they take and how much they pay for it.

Customers can build a personalised quotation by selecting their core cover (buildings, contents or both) and choosing from a range of add-on covers, for example for gadgets or other personal items.

Telegraph Media Group commerce partnership manager Rob Daniel said: “Our readers trust the Telegraph brand implicitly. If we impart our trust in third parties to deliver a service to our readers, we have to be confident that they will live and breathe our brand values.

“We were impressed not only by the creativity that the Hood Group showed in coming up with a different approach to home insurance but also by their ability to fully integrate their service proposition with our brand values.”

Hood Group business development director Paul Firkins added: “Combining our expertise in home insurance and years of experience in building individual solutions to meet the unique requirements of individual brands, we’ve delivered a new proposition that is set to change the way Telegraph readers purchase home insurance cover.

“We’re delighted to be working with such a prestigious and trusted brand as The Telegraph. This is the first of a number of exciting new opportunities that we are working on and we look forward to making further announcements over the coming months.”
