Backchat wonders whether the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff really is the best venue for the Axa-sponsored FA Cup and other football finals.

The footy pundits are concerned about the state of the pitch because it gets so little natural sunlight – being a totally encircled ground. Even if they do manage to get the patchy grass looking pristine, it won't stay that way because the “real men” who play rugby may churn up the pitch.

Backchat was at first wondering whether the answer would have been for the FA Cup final to go to the home of its sponsor and be played at the Stade de France in Paris. But then Backchat remembered that Axa is a global company and not French. So now we know. Cardiff is the capital of the globe.
