Brittany Ferries and Europ Assistance have teamed up to provide cover for holidaymakers taking pets to Europe. The cover includes free veterinary treatment if the animal is injured or ill while abroad, assistance in finding a pet lost on holiday, a £100 allowance should the customer have to return to the holiday destination to find the animal, and the cost of quarantine board in the UK should the pet lose its microchip while overseas.

Watford-based broker Dickson has revised its online professional indemnity and public liability product, Compris Contractor, to make it easier to get cover. Targeted at IT professionals, Compris Contractor allows them to buy cover on the net at website Dickson development manager Gary Jacobs said: "A shedding of numbers in the IT contractor market has led to a rise in the quality of service in the sector and a more insurable market."
