Open GI has reported an increase in the number of new start up brokers contracting for IT systems in response to growing market opportunities.
One of the latest firms to opt for the Open GI platform is Cross & Company (insurance brokers) based in Kineton, Warwickshire. The company was formed by Peter Cross and started trading on 19 March with a client base of commercial and high net worth clients.
Peter Cross, managing director of Cross & Company said: “Seven or eight years ago I think it would have been a very difficult decision to ‘go it alone'. However, insurance companies have given us tremendous support in terms of setting up agencies and giving us access to markets. They recognise the benefits independent insurance brokers can provide and the need to encourage start ups to enter the profession.
“Our FSA application also went very smoothly, resulting in our becoming authorised within a matter of weeks – preparation work in advance being key.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
