Turnover at law firm Irwin Mitchell was up nearly 10% last year, driven by strong growth in the practice’s personal injury business.

The firm, one of the leading practices in the personal injury and clinical negligence field, has announced that in the year ending May 31st 2011, its turnover was up 9% from £157.2m to £171.8m.

It said that net profit for the year to May 31 was £30.2m but that profit per partner was down to 511,000 from £540,000 in 2009/10.

The practice said the increase in turnover was due to a strong growth in both its corporate and personal injury business.
