Names from the insurance industry who received New Year's honours included former Co-operative Financial Services chief executive Mervyn Pedelty, who was knighted.

FSA deputy chair Stewart Boyd QC was awarded a CBE for services to the financial sector.

Former flood defence development manager at the Environment Agency, Dr Mervyn Bramley, was awarded an OBE for services to the environment. Irwin Mitchell partner Michael Napier received a CBE for services to pro bono legal work.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
