Stephen Catlin elected as president and Martin South as deputy

The Insurance Institute of London has appointed Stephen Catlin as president.

Catlin, chief executive of Catlin Insurance Group, is supported by newly-elected deputy president Martin South, chief executive of Marsh UK.

Catlin is the 104th president of the IIL, and takes over from Grahame Millwater, group president of Willis.

Catlin said: "It is a great honour to take the presidency of the IIL, particularly at a time when the institute is going from strength to strength despite the economic headwinds."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
