Ecclesiastical risk arm to offer health and safety

David Leavesley, 36, has joined Ecclesiastical to launch a new group company offering customers an independent, confidential and tailored risk management service. The company, Ecclesiastical Risk Services, is planned for launch in January 2008 and will offer a full range of health and safety services.

Leavesley is a chartered member of the Institution of Occupational Health & Safety. He has more than 10 years’ experience in risk management roles and holds a masters degree in risk management and safety technology. He leaves a position as risk reduction executive at NFU Mutual.

Ian Wainwright, group chief surveyor at Ecclesiastical, said: “There’s more to insurance than just paying claims. As an industry we need to play an even more active part in risk management. This new company will offer our customers essential advice and support which they can’t easily find elsewhere.”

Newly-appointed manager Leavesley said: “Ecclesiastical’s new service will be focused on our specialist markets: charity, care, education, heritage and faith. These customers have specialist insurance needs, so generic risk management advice just isn’t good enough. Our new service will give them support specific to their needs.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
