Clare Pardy appointed as fine art underwriting manager

Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical has appointed Clare Pardy ACII as Fine Art Underwriting Manager. Clare joins Ecclesiastical from XL Insurance where she was an underwriter responsible for their UK retail account, and global marketing, sponsorship and PR for fine art and specie.

Clare has more than 25 years experience in the fine art market. She worked at AXA Art for 23 years, becoming development director. Clare is an art historian, a chartered insurer and a fellow of the RICS.

As Fine Art Underwriting Manager Clare will be responsible for strengthening Ecclesiastical’s presence in the heritage market.

Clare said: “There’s no better place for a fine art specialist than an insurer with a true focus on the heritage market. I’m looking forward to adding my expertise to the mix.”

Chris Lees, Chief Underwriting Manager at Ecclesiastical, said: “An increasing proportion of the heritage business we’re taking on has some fine art element, so it makes sense to be able to underwrite this in-house. Clare brings a wealth of experience with her, and gives brokers yet another reason to choose Ecclesiastical for heritage cases.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
