Insurers pay out more than £300m per year for lost and stolen jewellery, according to the Loss Management Group.
The Bath-based claims specialist said that insurance claims account for 12% of all jewellery. It added that 250,000 and 10,000 high value rings are stolen each year and false claims account for about £60m per year.
