Fitch has confirmed the AA- financial strength rating of Irish Life Assurance.
The action follows the announcement that Irish Life & Permanent has reached agreement on the sale of two of its US subsidiaries, Interstate Assurance Company and First Variable Life Insurance Company.
The businesses have been sold to the Protective Life Insurance Company. The deal is expected to close in October 2001.
