The Irish Motor Insurance Advisory Board (MIAB) chairwoman Dorothea Dowling is concerned that the MIAB's recommendations were already "gathering dust", it has been reported.

The MIAB released its controversial report on the motor insurance industry last month, with recommendations for government, the police and insurers.

However, Dowling is reported to have told a recent lunch gathering she was concerned the government was not moving fast enough on the recommendations.

She said that the actions of various departments and ministers needed to be properly coordinated.

The insurance industry has already said it foresees no difficulty in fulfilling what the MIAB's has requested of it, although Dowling also attacked the industry's response to the report.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
