New hire to develop opportunities with Japanese business community

Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has appointed Nobuyuki Akahane to lead an initiative to develop opportunities with Japanese contractors.

Akahane will join JLT’s specialist construction division.

Prior to joining JLT, Akahane spent 22 years with the Marubeni Corporation, latterly as managing director of their broking operation, Marnix London. He brings with him a wealth of experience and contacts from within the Japanese business community.

Paul Knowles, managing director of the construction division commented, “We are delighted to welcome Nobuyuki to JLT. Nobuyuki’s primary focus will be the development of construction opportunities emerging from the aggressive push by Japanese contractors and engineering companies across the globe. In addition to this, Nobuyuki’s property, casualty, marine and political risks insurance knowledge and contacts will be a valuable asset for JLT as we push for growth in all areas of our business.”
