Neil Manvell becomes deputy underwriter

Neil Manvell has been appointed deputy underwriter at KGM Motor Insurance.

Manvell will support active underwrtier, Colin Hart, in driving the business on towards achieving its goal of writing premiums in excess of £100 million by 2011.

Manvell will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the technical underwriting function within the business. This will include overseeing the management and development of all products, as well as managing the heads of underwriting for the individual product lines and their teams.

Manvell said: “KGM has a reputation of giving its brokers direct access to underwriting expertise. I’m looking forward to working with Colin and the underwriting team to make sure that we continue to provide brokers not only with first class service, but with sensibly priced products that meet the needs of their customers.”

Hart said: “We believe that KGM has a strong role to play in its chosen niche markets. We have invested in our future by putting robust systems in place and selecting the right partners to work with and that means internally as well as externally. Neil has over 20 years’ experience of working in many of our markets, and a track record of delivering great results. I am delighted to welcome him to KGM and am confident that he will prove an invaluable member of the senior management team.”

Manvell joins KGM from RBS Insurance where he has built his career, and most recently held the role of RBS business manager for motorcycle and commercial vehicles. Prior to that, he held similar roles within the group at NIG and Churchill.
