New appointment will be based in Singapore

Kiln has appointed Christian Kolmberger as head of construction and engineering.

Kolmberger will be based in Singapore, a branch led by regional managing director Neil Wray, and will assume global responsibility for the growth and development of the construction and engineering class.

He will also manage Kiln’s team of specialist engineering underwriters in London and Hong Kong within Tokio Marine Kiln Syndicate 1880.

Syndicate 1880 active underwriter Satoshi Naganuma said: “As an experienced construction and engineering underwriter, Christian brings strong technical expertise and extensive experience of the European, Australian and Asia-Pacific markets to the role.

“We are delighted to welcome him on board as we work to grow this important class of business.”

Wray said: “Christian’s appointment will provide huge benefits to our clients and brokers in the Asia-Pacific region and enable us to build on Kiln’s position as a leading specialist insurer in this important market.”
