Towergate Underwriting Group has acquired the Kings commercial account for an undisclosed sum.
Kings already has the British Insurance Brokers' Assocation's (Biba) endorsement as its provider of commercial combined products.
Kings commercial manager Simon Read has joined Towergate Commercial Underwriting in Romford, where his main task will be to act as a liaison between Towergate, Biba and Biba members.
Towergate chief executive Peter Cullum said the purchase was an excellent strategic move, which brought together quality distribution and underwriting capability in an uncertain market.
Biba chief executive Mike Williams said: “Biba members have enjoyed the benefits of the relationship with Kings Commercial and no doubt look forward to the strength that Towergate will bring to that relationship.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
