Claims handling provider Supplier and Incident Management Solutions has launched a specialist rehabilitation operation.

Knight Rehabilitation will provide case management solutions across the full spectrum of injuries, to the general insurance personal injury market initially.

It has plans to roll out the service to other market sectors.

Insurer swiftcover.com will be the first company to use the service.

Last year, SIMS won the contract to handle all aspects of claims for Swiftcover's car insurance policyholders Gerry Ward, executive director of SIMS, said: “The needs of the claimant, the injured person, will be paramount, utilising a holistic, therapeutic approach with clear models of care and end objectives.

“They will be handled within efficient and cost effective time frames.”

Ward continued: “Knight Rehabilitation will adhere strictly to the Rehabilitation Code of Best Practice.

He said Knight Rehabilitation would actively support the industry's further development and growth of its standards, through active membership of the Case Management Society (UK).

Eileen Richardson will head up Knight Rehabilit-ation's operational management team in the role of medical director.
