Kwik-Fit Financial Services has launched a new online quote engine for motor insurance.

The system, designed by Software Solution Partners (SSP), went live at the start of 2004.

It gives Kwik-Fit the ability to complete motor quotations online for the first time.

Previously the company could capture information online, but would call customers back with a quote.

Kwik-Fit e-commerce manager Michael Lynch said that so far, the company had been generating around 5,000 quotes per month through the quote engine, with a conversion rate of 10%.

He said the website would be a key focus for the business in 2004.

"We want to ensure that we keep up with the market place, but also that we meet and exceed our customers ongoing needs.

"We now offer our customers a quick and easy way to purchase their motor insurance and we will be looking to enhance and develop this product with SSP to ensure that we maximise its potential," he said.

The system transfers information directly into Kwik-Fit's customer relationship management system, without the need for re-keying.

It also allows customers to retrieve and amend their information.

SSP development manager, Gina Cook described the development as a "successful collaboration".
