James Flude joins from Munich Re’s Watkins Syndicate

Lloyd’s insurer Lancashire’s UK operation has hired James Flude as head of energy and marine.

He will start in January 2014.

Flude has worked at Munich Re’s Watkins Syndicate at Lloyd’s for more than 14 years, most recently as energy underwriter and account manager.

Lancashire UK chief underwriting officer Paul Gregory said: “James is well known and respected in the energy market and adds further depth of experience to our existing energy and marine team.”

Flude added: “I look forward to working with the existing underwriting team to further develop what is an already successful energy and marine division.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
