The FSA reported that by the end of 13 July it had received 12,710 registrations from the general insurance sector to obtain an application pack and 8,624 applications for authorisation. While 6,230 registrations were from the primary insurance market, 6,480 were from the secondary market, those who sell general insurance products alongside other goods and services. The breakdown of applications for authorisation was 4,843 from the primary insurance market and 3,781 from the secondary insurance market.
