The ABI recently looked at the amount of information consumers were receiving from insurers to test the veracity of the FSA's Treating Customers Fairly policy.

Out of those it surveyed, over half of the consumers didn't actually read any of the information.

Head of general insurance Nick Starling told Backchat: "The findings have led to an internal joke that if you want to either bury bad news or expose a secret without anyone knowing, write it into an insurance policy."
