Staff at Link Insurance, which is part of the Kiln Group, have just passed their driving test – but it was computer know-how rather than intimate knowledge of the highway code that saw them through.

The staff, based at Link's Maidstone office, obtained their European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) from Mid-Kent College.

The ECDL aims to raise levels of competency in IT, to improve productivity at work and to help employers invest more efficiently in IT.

"We are actively encouraging our staff to obtain this new qualification," said Jo Betts, training officer at Link.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
