Insurance is not immune to vicious computer viruses.

A source told Backchat he was very surprised when he tried to call Lloyd's a few weeks ago to find no one answering. He tried other numbers, but to no avail.

After a few hours, he finally got through, and an exasperated telephonist said: "Sorry we have been blasted."

He panicked and checked his terrorism cover, believing Lloyd's had been bombed. But it turned out the market had been affected by the nasty 'blast' virus aimed at Microsoft users.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
