Ian Bridge to join from Faraday in the middle of this year

Lloyd’s insurer Duncan Dale has hired Ian Bridge as head of property insurance.

Bridge will join Duncan Dale in the middle of this year following a 10-year stint with rival Lloyd’s insurer Faraday, where he was most recently head of property insurance.

He has also worked as a property underwriter at Markel.

Duncan Dale is managed on a turnkey basis by managing agency Asta and owns Syndicate 1729, which started underwriting on 1 January this year.

Duncan Dale chief executive Duncan Dale said: “I’m extremely pleased that Ian has agreed to join us. In addition to leading our property insurance underwriting portfolio, which is a cornerstone of the syndicate, I am looking forward to working with him as part of the executive team to help build Syndicate 1729.”

Asta underwriting director Simon Norton added: “Asta is delighted that Ian has joined Syndicate 1729, furthering its plans to build a high-calibre team and develop a leading franchise within the Lloyd’s market.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
