Asta Insurance Markets chief operating officer Gary Griffiths is stepping down, with Julian Tighe taking over as chief financial officer.

Griffiths will continue in an oversight role until September 1. The claims department will become part of the underwriting division.

Asta chief executive Stephen Cane said: “Gary has been with the company almost since its formation and during this time has played a pivotal role in the development and success of the business.

“I am very pleased and grateful that Gary is able to help us with the next stage of our evolution before he steps down. It is therefore, perhaps a little premature at this point to recount his valuable contribution to the business that has become Asta but nevertheless, I would like to record my personal thanks for all of his unstinted efforts and loyal support during this time”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
