Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, promotions and leadership changes from 11 to 15 August 2025.

Starting the week, Hiscox appointed Harriet Turner as the lead for its new sexual molestation liability (SML) cover within its London market business.

Turner will join the general liability team in September 2025, bringing experience from her time at Beazley across underwriting and strategy roles. She will oversee a product designed to protect organisations globally against claims and liabilities involving sexual misconduct, molestation or abuse.

Later in the week, Hiscox hired Adrees Tinkler to head up a new alternative risk transfer (ART) team in its London market business.

Joining later this year from Allianz, Tinkler will report to chief underwriting officer Paul Lawrence and lead the development of products that sit between self-insurance and full risk transfer – providing clients with multiyear pricing certainty and tailored cover.

Amiga Specialty then appointed Richard Mills as managing director of transactional risks for the UK and Europe.

Based in London, Mills will establish the MGA’s transactional risks business line and report to group managing director Adam Kembrooke. He joins from Nexus Underwriting, where he was most recently transactional risks director.

PIB Group-owned Acquinex appointed Josh Cowen as its new chief executive.

Cowen moves from Chubb, where he was senior vice-president of international transactional risk, and will oversee the day-to-day running of the MGA as it looks to expand its product offering and global footprint. The move comes as co-founders Chris Jackson and Chris Thompson transition into new roles within PIB Group.

Rounding off the week, Lloyd’s insurer Atrium said it is entering the credit and political risk market after hiring a team from Axis Capital.

Led by Richard Lamb, with Beth MacGregor and Adam Vulliamy joining him, the new team will start in the first quarter of 2026 and build a book to meet growing demand for credit and political risk propositions under a volatile geopolitical environment.
