Hiscox appoints Matthew Budd to the newly created role of group head of technical claims.
In his new role, Budd will be based in London and report to group claims director Steve Parry.
He will be responsible for overseeing the insurer’s technical claims operations as the business continues to fulfil its growth ambitions and deliver propositions to customers.
Parry said: “Budd will be a great addition to our team, thanks to his vast global experience and deep expertise in claims – including complex and high-value claims across various lines of business.
“He joins us at an exciting moment as we focus on realising our ambitious growth plans and I look forward to working with him to continue to develop our market-leading claims service.”
Experience
With a 36-year career in claims, Budd has extensive experience across multiple classes of business.

He joins Hiscox from AIG, where he led the group’s aerospace claims.
Budd has also held a range of roles at Talbot Underwriting, including head of claims and head of wordings, contracts and delegated authorities.
Prior to joining Talbot, he was the aviation claims manager at XL London Market.
