Despite years of practise, some Lloyd's brokers and underwriters still cannot hold their drink.

At a Christmas party last month, one partygoer was caught relieving himself in the corner of Lloyd's restaurant. He was duly escorted out.

A chat with the 300-year-old market's saviours in red revealed Lloyd's staff are renowned for misbehaving. Endeavours include employees attempting to ring the famous Lutine Bell, and being caught on security cameras in the process of personal relations under the arches of Lloyd's old building.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
