The Lloyd's Market Assocation (LMA) has supported Lloyd's chief executive Nick Prettejohn's condemnation of the FSA for not making commission disclosure mandatory.

Prettejohn told the Insurance Institute on Monday that the FSA had “not gone far enough.”

The LMA said it “wholeheartedly endorses his views.”

LMA chief executive Simon Sperryn said: “The LMA was particularly pleased to hear Nick's advocacy of full disclosure of what the client is paying for, both risk premium and transaction and other associated costs.

“The LMA has been supporting this view for some time. It is the only way to ensure transparency and produce consequent efficiency.”
