After selling Churchill to RBSI in 2003, founder Martin Long is back in the industry.

He told Backchat: "At 55, I thought, God willing, I could have another 20 years of active life and I didn't want to just sit on the beach."

Hence when AMG's financial backers called him in October last year to see whether he was interested in joining the board as non-executive chairman he jumped at the chance.

He has been dedicating his time to his passion, the life and times of Winston Churchill. He bought and remodelled Chartwell Farm next to the Churchill family's Chartwell estate. Sadly he did not unearth any old Monte Cristo cigars or bottles of Plymouth gin.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
