LV= chief executive John O’Roarke believes social media will transform customer relationships

LV= chief executive John O’Roarke believes social media will transform customer relationships and insurers would be unwise to ignore its strengths.

He said LV= had invested in social media because of its power to respond to thousands of customers at a stroke.

O’Roarke said he was learning from US firms, which quickly responded to customer complaints on Twitter, meaning potentially hundreds or thousands of Twitter followers could view their response.

“I think social media will lead to greater accountability and transparency for the industry and it will be a positive thing,” he told the audience at the ABI’s Motor Conference 2011 in London today.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
