Marcus Hearn has a new ISDN link with insurers that lets it produce online policy documents and 24-hour quotations.
It is using the link for its new Commercial Property Underwriting Facility, that offers premiums from 0.5% and a commission rate of 17.5%.
The facility has AA-rated underwriting security and an installment plan. Marcus Hearn director Barry Fitzsimons said brokers received very slow service from big insurers, but he hoped to remedy that with the new product.
"Efficiency has dropped alarmingly following so many mergers, resulting in delays of up to a week for quotations and up to five months for policy issuance," he said.
