Phil Angus to lead Marsh business in Manchester

Marsh has appointed Phil Angus to the newly created role of leader of its Financial and Professional (FINPRO) National business for the Northern Region.

Based in Manchester, Angus will oversee the strategic development and client servicing of Marsh’s FINPRO business in the region.

Angus moves to Marsh’s Manchester office from the Isle of Man, where he successfully led Marsh’s insurance broking operations on the island for almost five years. He will report to Andrew Jackson, UK leader, FINPRO National.

Jackson said: “As a result of global economic conditions, the UK’s professional sector has experienced an uptick in claims over the past 18 months as some firms try to apportion blame for their misfortune to their advisers. This has had a knock-on effect to the insurance market and the price companies are paying for their insurance cover.

“Good risk management, and being able to demonstrate a robust risk management programme, are essential when trying to secure a fair deal from insurers. In his new role, Phil will play a pivotal part in delivering the highest levels of service to Marsh’s professional clients in the Northern Region.”

Angus added: “My experience of dealing with financial institutions and the legal profession on the Isle of Man will no doubt be invaluable in my new role. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Northern Region to develop and deliver innovative and cost effective insurance programmes for our clients that will contribute to their continued success.”
